The owner wanted to include the bandana from the second photo into the first one.

Photo of two black and white cats next to each other with startled looks on their faces

While these are not ideal reference photos, the owner keeps the cats as indoor cats so there’s no chance of having photos outside, I felt I could still take on the commission.

How to commission a pet portrait

  1. Start by submitting the form below. Please include whether you want a digital pet portrait or a painted portrait and if you have a date you need the portrait by.

2. I will aim to respond via email within 3 working days. In this email I will include a copy of my commission contract and a sheet explaining how to take good reference photos. Please read these carefully and if you’re happy with the contract sign it and return it to me. In this email please include 3 to 5 photos of your pet if you are commissioning the piece as a memorial portrait then just send whatever pictures you have

3. I require 50% of the total price as a deposit before starting any work. You will receive an invoice directly to your email from this website. You can pay it from the link in the email. Please pay the invoice by the date shown otherwise I will assume that you no longer want to go on with the portrait.

4. Once I’ve received the deposit and suitable reference photos I will begin making a couple of sketches. This is the same whether you have chosen a digital pet portrait or a painted one. I will send you these rough sketches via email so you can pick which one you want to go with.

5. Once you have chosen which sketch you want to go with I will then either continue working digitally or if you have selected a painted portrait I will transfer the design to paper.

6. I will aim to update you regularly. If you you have any questions or suggestions throughout the painting process please let me know. I aim to make you ecstatic about your portrait and the further we go in the process the harder it is to make changes.

7. When the portrait is nearly finished I will send you a photo of it with a watermark over the picture. I then rqequire the remaining 50% of the price. You will receive another invoice which you can pay through the link in the email again.

8. After receiving the final payment there are 2 paths. If you commissioned a digital portrait, I can either send you a high resolution PNG or jpeg directly or if you have chosen to have it printed I will send it off to a professional printers. After I have received it from the printers I will send it out using 48 hr tracked delivery if you’re in the UK (out of country shipment may take longer). If you choose the painted one I will apply a wax sealer and then send it out using the same delivery method as previously stated.

9. All you have to do then is wait for it to arrive.

If you have any questions then please email me.
