The Wobbly Penguin

To all the children who live life limitlessly, even if they have difficulties to overcome

The beginning

I started writing The Wobbly Penguin in the summer of 2019. It had been mulling around in my head for a while until one day I just decided to start writing. It took nearly 8 months to write and illustrate it and then I just had to raise the money to self publish it. I set up a Kickstarter project to raise the money I needed and was successful! The books became reality in August of 2020. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who supported this project, thank you! You made this dream come true.

Based on my experience growing up with a degenerative condition the book follows a young penguin called Pearl as she grows up with mobility issues. She has to figure out how to do things that other penguins find easy.

The book is aimed at children from 0-6 years old and I believe it’s an excellent way to encourage children to think about different perspectives.

The Story bag

I created these bags to sell alongside the books. I feel they give an extra bit of magic to the story.

They include:

The book

A handmade needle felted soft toy made by me.

A sachet of “magic snow” and a measuring cup

A wobbly penguin bookmark and art print

A sachet of hot chocolate.
